Hi, I am almost at the last week of incubation, and thought I would put up this chat, to see peoples tips of turning, adding water to the incubator, seeing wigglers, sitting on their hands, just wanting to chat about about this time. Below is a pic of my latest project. They are in a farm innovator incubator, hand turn day 13.
Eggs are from a health food store fridge, but they are fertile, and the farm is local. In this pic they are not directly under the heat, with this incubator, it is 100 in the position they are in, I have in set at 100, but if right under the heater it is warmer than that. I have egg carton card board on edges of incubator, so they don't touch wall I turn them and the lid 3+ x a day. They have water in the center but not the outer floor, because they have holes for air draw in those. I did have to tape down the clear lid, it did have gaps, but I took out red plugs for the whole hatch. the humidity stayed at 50% and I will raise that later. Penny in water from before 1982 for the copper-distilling the water. This is my first hatch all the way through using this incubator, but I have hatched before, I will see what I think about this incubator after the hatch. Mystery eggs.
