Right now I have 4 chicks in the brooder, when the others arrive my current chickies will be 3 weeks old. Currently our coop is completely empty. Any suggestions on moving them all in together? Should I move them all when the oldest are seven weeks and the babies for weeks?
We did not plan on getting two batches of chicks at different times, but it happened:) we will have a divided brooder for all chicks to meet when the new ones get here and they’ll be living side by side with a panel in the middle where they can see each other. Any insight would be helpful.
Thank you

How did it go, did you manage to get them all together? :)
Hey, we decided to wait to introduce them to each other all at once in the neutral chicken run.
it went great, and they’ve been together since then. I think the babies were 3 weeks and the bigger were 7 weeks at the time. Everyone is roosting on the same bar too

Did you start them out with look but no touch or just throw caution to the wind? Asking for a friend... Who accidentally on purpose ended up with a couple extra pullets... It was me. That friend was me 🤦

Hahahahaha!! I actually put the smaller ones in there first for an hour, let them explore then I put the big ones in. It’s a pretty big run, it’s 26 x 20’. So I think there was enough room. I also had some plants planted in the corners, so the little chickens could have hid if they wanted to

That's kind of what my plan was, so I'm happy to hear it worked well for you!!
