That's right people, we got a huge snow storm last night, went out to check on the girls this morning. And what did I find in the nest box, our very first egg. Woo hoo. I did the egg dance out in the yard in the deep snow!
If we ever had that much snow, every roof within a 2 county's distance would cave in. Every deciduous tree would snap or keel over, and the power most certainly would be out.
Congrats though! We just got our first snow today (1-2 inches) and I think I see my Easter Egger is laying today. She hasn't laid an egg since, oh, March.
My girls seem to step up the laying when the weather's nasty. Clearly they've not read the literature; you know -- the parts about stressful things making them slow down? Oh no, if we have 90 mph winds, that's when I get an egg from each of them. 2' of snow? Production doubles. Dumb clucks!
We are on the south west side of the Salt Lake Valley.
And two more eggs today! So we've got two of the girls giving me wonderful eggs. They must have seen how excited I got yesterday, they had to do it again today.
