Our 14 week Light Brahma is looking more like a Rooster than a Hen. No crowing yet.

Wow, gorgeous Brahma. Where did you get it?

Those look like pointy saddle feathers so I think you're right: probably a boy. If so, listen for a nice, low crow at some point. Coincidentally, our LB boy crowed at 14 weeks. His crow stayed so low-pitched you'd barely hear it.

Thanks! We got it from Chickenville USA in Terrell, TX. They get them from either Ideal or Privett Hatchery.

Our farmers co-op uses Ideal; that's where our boy came from. Here's what he looked like this at 14 weeks. Of course that doesn't mean much even if yours is from Ideal since hatcheries have so many different strains!

Ours had no feathering on his middle toe and a huge comb and wattles for a Brahma. Yours looks a bit more true to the breed than our fella.

Edited to say that if you're going to do anything drastic based on if this is a boy, definitely get more opinions than only mine. I'm no guru at sexing. I probably shouldn't even have answered but adore Brahmas :idunno

Ooh I hope if mine is a boy that it has a very low crow as I wouldn't want ro have to rehome as I am not zoned. Mine is 9-10 weeks
