Hello, My name is Gina Barfield, and I'm so glad to be on this site. I have raised chickens before, but not in a while. I just purchased a coop from the Home Depot, and am looking for at least 3 good laying, kind, beautiful hens. Looking forward to meeting and chatting with you guys.
I'd consider looking up some vids on reinforcing a coop, because the newer ones you can buy these days are trash. We use fencing for the run. Chicken wire is not strong enough.

I'd also consider getting more than 4, chickens do better in flocks. Try getting 6. I'd suggest getting orpingtons, barred rocks, silkies (broody alert!), or maybe some sex links, if you definitely dont want roosters.
