15 Minute Temp Spike/Is all lost? We have Pippage!!!

We are on day 20 of our hatch and last night 15 after I had checked my incubator temps/humidity on four incubators, I saw that my LG had risen to 106 degrees for no apparent reason. YIKES!

Does that mean all of my babies were cooked? We immediately opened up the incubator and cooled them off and then babysat the thing for a while to see if it was going to settle back to the normal, stable temp and it seems to be fine now.

Somebody posted that LG's react to high humidity and that could be what happened as I had just raised the humidity in prep fro lockdown.

Is all lost?

They'll probably be fine. Candle on day 18 when you "lock them down".

No longer that 15 min. they should be ok I would think..

I had a 108 spike once and was probably overnight during lockdown. Hatched 11 out of 13.

We have two pips that I can see and lots of chirps and rockin' and rollin', so I guess we are about to see just how effected we were by the spike in temp.

There are about 30 eggs in there....

They'll be fine. Next time, to avoid fluctuations, add a fan to the incubator.
