I went on lockdown & i hear a chick. i see an egg cracked open so i know it is in there so i am guessing day 1 on that chick. Soooooooooo, stupid drum roll please. what do i do at day 3 , should i go get what has hatched? i can't see anything in the hatching tray, it's so dark & the flash light isn't helping. my fear is the chick starving due to paranoia about opening this BUG door & grabbing what has hatched early. SIGH........... the door is just soooo big & i can just imagine the escape of humididty.

with my tabletop on i just grabbed them lifting the lid slightly. I could see who was fluffed & hatched, pipped & zipped. i feel like a blind person

If it was me, I'd open the door and get the poor hatchlings out of there.

People are so very paranoid about temp and humidity levels, but broody hens leave the nest every day to eat and drink and their eggs do just fine. In fact, I just had a broody abandon her nest, just days from hatching. Best guess is that the eggs had been uncovered and unheated all night. They were cold to the touch. But we stuck them under another broody, and 50% still hatched.

Agreed. Especially with that incubator. Leave it running, open the door and do what you need to do. It will get back to normal in no time. While I don't know how long the chicks have been in there. They should be fine in there a couple days as well. But I like to let my chicks dry and remove them. Sorry, I just don't buy the whole 24 hr bit, lock down and don't touch or open what ever you do... I open, and get the chicks as I see fit. I wouldn't stand there with it wide open and muck around for long periods and do it often, but get in and do your business and get it closed back up.
