.

Is there anyone in Delta County, Michigan who has been successful with the "Michigan Right To Farm Act" as concerns keeping chickens and having a roadside farm stand?
Unfortunately, the Right to Farm Act does NOT mean what it sounds like. It applies to farms (I don't know if there is a size requirement), not to people who want to keep animals. In essence, it protects farms from being sued/shut down when people buy homes near them, and then experience the smells and noises inherent with farms, and find them objectionable.

Sorry to give you bad news. Maybe someone in Delta Co. will have some advice to help your situation.

The RTFA "...the commercial production, harvesting, and storage of farm products, and includes, but is not limited to: Marketing produce at roadside stands or farm markets."

That is what we do.

You would likely need a business license and local/state tax ID # for it to apply to you. Also your zoning may prevent.

Zoning is my main concern.

Michigan Cottage Law allows the sale of whole, unbroken in the shell eggs without a business license or tax IDs, as long as the sellers are "shell egg producers who meet all of the following requirements: (a) Is directly responsible for producing eggs from fewer than 3,000 hens. (b) Only sells eggs directly to consumers or first receivers*. (c) Only sells eggs in containers that each bear a label stating, "packaged in a facility that has not been inspected by the department." (d) Does not sell eggs through the internet or by mail order or consignment."
