17% All Flock Feed

Is 17% flock feed sufficient? I can't find a 20% flock feed at my TSC.
It depends on who you ask.
The majority of the feed for layers in the EU and UK is 16% on average.
Bear in mind the percentages quoted are averages, not fixed quantities.
If you are concerned about the protein levels in the feed you can get then you can supplement with a high complete protein addition such as tinned fish which should have added benefits in the form of minerals etc.

Last I knew, TSC was a national Purina dealer so the should be able to get Flock Raiser. If they do order for you be sure to specify crumble or pellet.

Also, many TSC carry Nutrena which makes a 20% all flock, though it is only available in pellets to my knowledge.

You can mix the 17% with Meat Bird food (usually 22%) or just feed them meat bird food if you want to give them higher protein. I would give them some vitamin supplements if you do this - check the lysine and methionine on the all flock food and try to match that. I try to match purina Flockraiser levels.
