I was regularly getting 7 to 9 quail eggs a day but yesterday I got 17!!!!!!! I couldnt believe it!. I cleaned out the pen and I found a nest where my bobwhites had hidden a bunch of eggs. Well, only 5. lol

I am wondering if some of the eggs I got are A&M eggs. Does anyone have any pics of an egg from an A&M?

Thanks,
Cody!!

bobwhite eggs are white

all coturnix eggs are normally spotted and are totally different shape from bobwhite eggs.

So you having both species in the same pen, you will be able to tell which eggs apart.

A white bird does NOT mean white eggs lol

I know that the Coturnix eggs and the bobwhite eggs are totally different! I was just saying that the eggs in the nest i found were bobwhites. THen I asked if some of the eggs I got were A&M's. I meant the speckled eggs. Lol

Sorry for the confusiopn. So I take it that the A&M's will also lay a spotted egg? Well, I only have three A&Ms but I would like to know the gender of them. Is there a way to tell the males/females apart?

Thanks,
Cody!!

I am still confused. If you know that the speckled eggs are coturnix eggs then why are you asking if A & Ms lay speckled eggs? A & Ms ARE Coturnix. No there is no way to visually tell a male A & M from a female A & M unless you read on my tutorial about the swollen vent on the roo (of ALL coturnix).

A & M is JUST a color, just like theres blue white and black silkies, theres white coturnix just as there is brown coturnix. ALl the same thing.

Okay thanks for clearing things up. I just wasnt sure if the A&ms laid speckled eggs. I just re-read your first post on this thread and i see that you said that all Coturnix lay speckled! lol

Thanks,
cody!!

lol yep and dont worry you're not the first one to think that different colors lay different eggs. SOME colors DO lay different tinted eggs but in general they all lay the spotted wild looking egg that we all love
