17 week old ee roo

My 17 week old ee has not crowed yet or even tryed to. When wee he start and when will he start being fertile and mounting my hens? The year 25 week old pullets beat up on him.

He still has a really small pea comb

You know, MY 7 month old EE/Dorking roo "Mully" is the same - tiny comb, has yet to crow ... when I got him at 4 months of age I thought he was a hen because he didn't have any sickle feathers yet. Now, he is clearly a rooster (and so very sweet, a real cuddly guy) but doesn't crow either. On the plus - an excellent lead guy who watches his girls very carefully when they are free ranging and rounds them up for me and brings 'em back into the coop. So I guess the question is: Do EE roosters mature later than other breeds????
