My chicks are 19 days old today. we moved them out to the coop last week but sectioned them off so we can keep the heat lamp on them. But here is my question when can i let them go with my bigger chickens? the weather is in the 50 to 60s durring the day? I am wodering because we are getting broilers on monday or tuesday so we need the room for them we are getting about 100 or so. anyone help Please

Thanks

Hmmm.... tough call- I wouldn't do it yet, because I like for mine to be big and mature enough to defend themselves. You chicks aren't even 3 weeks old yet- I wait a minimum of 12 weeks before I even try to mix them, and I still have to watch them carefully.

Is there any way you can maintain a separate area? Another little area barricaded off? They don't need much at 19 days!
