19 week old Americanas

Maybe, kind of sort of...if they lay before mid October, course I am farther south than you... but if they don't lay then, they will wait to start laying in February...unless you add lights.

At nineteen weeks - you could be 4-6 weeks from laying, which is going to be close to the deadline...maybe you will get eggs, if you do get eggs, you are very apt to have them all winter.

If you add lights you have to do it right. I never do, so I am not sure on the how, but know there is a trick to it.

They are 29 weeks now & my one has been laying every day for weeks. The two still haven’t given us any. Am I right to assume we won’t get any until spring?

They are suppose to be Americana’s? Is that not different from an Easter egger? I believe my one is actually an olive egger but we don’t know for sure. They are 29 weeks now & still no eggs
It kind of depends on the spelling. There's a recognized breed called Ameraucana. Those have specific colors and standards. And then there's mixes called Easter Eggers but some hatcheries and feed stores will call them "Americanas." They're not pure pred but mixes. They are just a fancy name people came up with for Easter Eggers to charge more.

My brown EE didn't start laying until she was 30 weeks old so your girls may still give you eggs but with the limited sunlight, it's also possible they may wait until spring. You can never know with chickens! They lay on their own time.

Okayy! We got ours from the local feed store so I don’t they are that fancy! Our main girl gave us eggs at about 19-20 weeks but even google images doesn’t know her breed. It gives different answers every time I take a pic LOL

Truthfully - I don't know. Really at this time of year, getting eggs has a great deal to do with luck! Facts are they lay less in the dark days of winter. Each individual bird?????

If this helps, I do have April (nothing to do when she hatched) She hatched in July LAST summer, and did not lay eggs (the prettiest green) until February...but so far, she and another pullet that I picked up at the store in August are (whispering) still laying.

Now the other hen, that I picked up with Red in August is in a molt...looks like she is coming home after a hard and late party. Not laying.

Just keep checking... and smile if you get lucky.

I'd love to see a pic of your chickens!
The one with the really bright comb/waddles is our layer (blondie lol) & the other two are free loaders. (Hennifer in 1st pic & ducky in 2nd)

Cute! Those are all Easter Eggers which is why Google images isn't giving you a proper answer. EEs are mixes made to produce colorful eggs. They aren't a recognized breed and can be any mix of chicken with a blue egg gene. Most often mixed with Ameraucana, Crested Cream Legbar, or Whiting True Blue.

I have 8 month old freeloader, myself! I'm thinking she'll wait until spring because she's still pale pink. I remember checking for eggs starting age 16 weeks. What a joke! Most of them started laying around 28 week mark.

LITERALLY! What a joke! 😂 I marked it in my calendar, we were so excited to finally get an egg & nothing! I’m glad my one baby is laying tho! We get 1 a day so it’s not enough for a big family but we’re not a huge egg eating family anyways so it’s enough for us for now. Her eggs are an olive/light brown colour.
