Our Basset hound got to one of our hens. She only has a tiny cut on her comb but lots of feathers lost. She's acting like she's in shock- eyes closed heavy, rattley breathing, and just laying down. But did run away when I first approached (thinking she was dead). I'm spoon feeding water with acv bit unless she's drinking she's just laying with her eyes closed. Anything else I should be doing?

Treat her for shock. Gatorade mixed with water. ACV won't help with shock. Keep her warm in a quiet area with food and water. Give her a few hours and if she is not walking eating etc give her a drink and see if she will eat any treats like grapes cut into quarters or blueberry, strawberry etc. The fruit has a lot of water especially grapes and nourishment. It mite take her a few days to come out of it. She will most likely stop laying eggs so don't be surprised and think she is eggbound.

Ditto that, with emphasis on warm and dark. If she doesn't have internal injuries, she should

be OK.
