what is the best way to take care of my roo's spur.. Is it necessary to remove his spur? can i just keep it filed down? what do i do with his spur? we had a dog attack and he defended his girls with all he had at 6months old..so I know he needs it but i dont want him hurting the ladies when mating.. how do you deal with your roo's spur?

Trimming back aggressively can cause the spur to bleed. Having some clotting agents on hand can be helpful.
