Got 2 batches of shipped eggs. The 1st ones were due to hatch today.Monday I had one hatch.Checked the other 7 tonite. One died at about 2 weeks.Others were all infertile. These were freebies in a shipping mistake from down south.Came late,2 days after USPS said they were to be here.Followed instruction on here about shipped eggs.
My 2nd batch due on Fri.If these are bad also thats it with distance shipping.I MIGHT try some one state away.Waiting for some replies from prevous buyers.
Heading to couple auctions.I know you can get bad ones there also but I'm gonna try.

Hi grandpa what procedure had you done with the shipped eggs?

I do have a suggestion, when you order eggs ask politely that they ship the eggs fat end up and ask them to double box them. its worth suggesting you will pay a little more for a larger box. I just had 12 out of 14 hatch shipped, they were packaged in bubble rap open on the ends so they still got air, set in the middle of the first box and closed up and then placed in a larger box with those huge bubbles in it.

Also, you are correct in the distance deal. I will always ask the location and if its not a surrounding state I would even bother. I think riding on an airplane at such high alts do serious damage.

I wish you the best of luck! oh are you on your local thread here on BYC? its in the https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you

Yep,I'm on the PA part hoping for a local reply.
Pack was in fine shreaded paper all around eggs in an egg carton, air up.Taped closed but slightly open.Carton was in coarse shreaded paper in box.
I opened box (-0- broke) and left them get to room temp about 3-4 hrs.Put them in incubater in foam carton with bottom cut out for air.No turn for 1 week then tilted whole carton for 1 week.About 1 week at a flat turn then lockdown.
I have incubated off and on for 40yrs.No expert but not a newbie.
