Hello! I am trying to hatch my own eggs with a diy incubator I made yesterday but the heat source went out in the middle of the night! Are the eggs ruined or will the embryos continue to grow once I fix the heat source? Or will I have to begin again with new eggs? I just put them in the incubator last night. Thanks for your help!

I'm not for sure. I'd keep trying once you fix the heat! Candle them once you fix the heat. After 5 - 6 days candle again. My button quail eggs were sitting in a garage (In winter, not my garage) for 2-4 weeks before I got them!

Thanks for your reply! I think I will keep them in it and keep trying. It only has been a few hours and has stayed fairly warm. I'll candled them in a week and make sure they are growing! I'm excited!

I was too my first hatch and always will be at the sight of growing embryos and hatching! Good luck on your hatch!

I don't know anything about incubation and hatching but, I would think at such an early time - the eggs should still be good. Hoping you work the bugs out of the system and get it running well. You may want to post on the incubation and hatching thread.

Thank you ladies! So far so good! I candled them Yesturday and I can see the formation of blood vessels! I couldn't get good pictures but I will soon when I candle them again!
