The little one I know if an OEGB the bigger black chicken I am unsure of the breed (sold to by a feed store as a cuckoo Maran)
I am pretty sure they are both pullets, but I am getting antsy waiting to know since where I live I cannot have roosters..
Thanks everyone

Oh thank god! My husband and I were worried because we just moved to town and bought a house with a beautiful little shed I turned into a coop and named them Pip and Pigpen.. They are our pets so the thought of rehoming either of them killed me.
I didn't think Pigpen the bigger chick was a cuckoo... And its been a while since I raised chickens.. I can't remember the name of the comb she has but its similar to the combs wyandottes have..
And Pip the OEGB has a single I believe its just very tiny... Very hard to tell.

Thank you everyone! :)

She looks to have willow legs, so maybe it's a peacomb, rather than rose? If so, she could be some sort of Olive Egger or Easter Egger?

If it is Rose, she could be a mixed Wyandotte?

Yeah.. I am thinking she is some kind of barnyard mix..
Dumb question, do chick factorys sell mix breed chickens? They were bought from L&M ..so I am assuming they get their chicks from a hatchery ?

We don't really have 'hatcheries' here in the same way you do, but they seem to invent their own hybrid 'breeds' fairly regularly; hence my thought that she could be an Olive Egger or Easter Egger.

When I say she might be a mix, it's not unheard of for a bird to hop a fence, but when it comes to hatcheries, the breed quality can suffer as a result of poor breeding choices; a hen with dark shanks could easily be put into a breeding pen.
