Are you talking about using red worms with your chicken bedding? I'm curious to see how it works. I'm wondering if the manure is too hot for the worms, if that's what you're doing. You'll need to have lots of holes in that trash can so the mix doesn't go anaerobic on you.
I'm thinking along similar lines to compost all of the dog poo that I suddenly have in my yard. My pup came to me with a healthy dose of round worms, so I'm thinking that a nice hot compost, somewhat contained will be the way to go. I'll either make it in a straw bale container, or use a trash can, with holes, buried in the ground a bit, and add some hay, leaves, grass clippings as I go. A bit of ammonia if I need to heat it up even more.
