A few weeks ago I purchased 4 Royal Palm poults from the local Agway. Recently I noticed the one opening his mouth as wide it could go. It's not very often and mostly while he's falling asleep, but it seemed abnormal to me. He and a few others have also been sneezing a bit, but no runny discharge and no coughing. They are active and eating and drinking well. Eyes seem clear. They have been residing in my bedroom and never been outside since it has been too cold. My worry here with the occasional gasping is gape. I know that it is common in poults and that it can get bad quickly. Would it hurt them to treat them for it anyway? If not, how and what would I treat them with? Any other things it could be? I love the little buggers and would be very sad if anything happened to them. Thanks!
