2.5 yr old hen won't walk, looks completely healthy otherwise

I had a similar experience with a hen who was middle-aged and had been vaccinated for Mareks. She lost balance, but could not stay upright for 5 weeks. I left her in the big coop with the others on the floor in a basket. They did not bother her while in her basket. She would scoot around the basket to stay out of her droppings. I fed her a bowl of watery food and vitamins twice each day. She would not drink, but ate the very watery feed, egg, canned cat food, with some dry feed. Suddenly one day she was able to stand and leave her basket, and though wobbly, wanted to go out into the yard. The others all went after her, so she would spend her days on the other side of poultry netting free ranging, but she was near the others for company. She was brough pt in daily to her basket and let out again each morning. It took about 6 months, and one day they let her back into the flock where she spent the rest of her life. I suspected vestibular disease that affected balance, but she never had paralysis. We never knew exactly what caused it, but she eventually got over it.

This is an update on my paralyzed chicken.
She is still in the crate in my dining room (since November :barnie). But, she did begin standing and walking again about a month ago. I swear, my husband and I were at the table talking about how to end the situation and thats about the time she started walking. LOL. She also started laying eggs in the crate.

I've been taking her outside, separated from the other chickens when the weather is good. Now, the other chickens are not playing nice. I will wait till the nights are warmer before I try to reintroduce her to her flock. It will be a hard transition I believe. But...I believe that ultimately, she must have hurt herself and it has taken this much time to heal. I'm glad I waited.
That is amazing to hear!
She’s so lucky to have such a dedicated owner. I have since learnt that chickens can have strokes which can lead to paralysis, as it happened to one of my hens. Unfortunately I believe she had another stroke.
It makes me very happy that your hen could pull through.
I wish you luck with the rest of her recovery.
