Who spends that kind of money on A CHICKEN! Who can afford that??
BC chickens are such huge targets they could die so easily! Anyone on here have one?
I actually know someone with 2 OF THEM! They are called Ayam Ceman.
So plumage, beak, tongue, legs, toe nails, even meat, bones and organs are all black!

That’s only greenfire farms. Most people sell them for less.

Greenfire has the A.C. chicks for $199 bucks each. Juvies are $400. $$$$ Interesting that they lay a light pinkish-brown egg. Saw the pics on Greenfire site. I JUST KNEW the eggs would be black too!

Not to worry the price goes down as they get popular. The people who pay the big bucks are breeders. I remember when Creme Legbars came out Omg I wanted some but couldnt afford the $$$$$ for them... Nowadays you can get them for 30 or 40 bucks for show quality... but lots of back yard breeders have them for a modest price.

By the way there are several breeds of Chickens with those same qualities.... The all black everything is called Melanism.... So you can have a chicken with normal plumage with Melanistic skin.... its reasonably common in nature as is albinoism....

Pretty interesting read on Wikipedia About Melanism.

Games are worth that kind of money in the right areas. They can actually generate that kind of return on the investment, unlike the over hyped fad breeds. Have seen ayam cemani going for free cockerel to a good home, hens for layer prices, just like I knew they would. That is the way any breed will be when you see people scrambling to get them. Let all the people that are raving about them and dying to have them start raising chicks, and there will be thousands flooding the market.

Take the Brahmas. A few viral youtube videos playing on camera angles, and a really nicely bred mature rooster, and every body wants one. When people realize what poor laying, slow growing things they are, with no expectation of getting anywhere near that size in hatchery stock, the market will be flooded with them.

Same with Polish, whose only real purpose is to give the hawks something to eat to spare your other birds. Other chickens- "Hawk, Hawk, run for cover!" Chicken with feathers completely obscuring it's face- "I don't see anyth...OOF!"
