OK so today and tomorrow are hatch day and I woke up to two eggs that the chicks were trying to hatch. On lockdown we had 35 eggs (5 were questionable though). My kids (and I) are super excited. Just out of curiosity how long does it usually take for a chick to hatch through the egg?

Once they pip, it can take a day for them to actually hatch out. When you are excited and cant wait to see them, it really is an eternity. My daughters and I couldn't pry ourselves away from the incubator when we had our first successful hatch. It was very exciting. Just pull up a chair and enjoy the show. We were talking to ours trying to encourage them, but I am not sure this really did anything.

What is funny is it isn't any of the eggs that pipped (sp) this morning. I didn't see any activity from this egg, we just heard a commotion in the bator and a baby chick was out. It is trying to move around the bator and the other eggs. This is so exciting.
