2 Broody Hens... Staggered Hatch Date

Hey there all!

I have a quick question,

I have a broody that should be hatching her clutch any day now YAY!

A second hen has just gone broody about 4 days ago.

The question is.... Will the second hen continue to sit on her own clutch after the other hen's chicks hatch? Or will the little sounds of peeps stop her broodiness? Thanks for the help all!!

do they live together or are they separate?

They live together, but I do have dog crates for hatching

i would separate them so they cant hear or see each other or she might give up once she hears new chicks

Darn! Do you think having them both in separate, covered crates in the coop would be sufficient? Or should I take one gal and her whole nest out?

yes that should be ok but you should move the first hen and chicks out when they hatch

Ok, will do! I was hoping to keep everyone in the coop, usually the hens go broody around the same time, and a few lose interest early, so it's not a problem... besides, it's winter! Crazy girls!
