2 day old chick dying

Well, its gone. I tried giving her some electrolytes but it was too late. she was fine at bed time but clearly distressed this morning. too bad, hate to see any suffer so maybe its better.

Some babies just don't make it regardless of what you do - that's why you usually order 20% more chicks than you expect to eventually raise to adults.
This covers hatchery sexing errors, failure to thrive, and victims of the rest of your baby flock, who will gang up on any weaklings unless you isolate and protect until they recover.
Never expect 100% survival .you will then never be disappointed in losses that are almost guaranteed.

Inspect your chicks frequently for weaklings, or pasty butts than might need washing.
Newbies are fragile and need help until they are a few weeks and start to feather out.
Make sure your heat lamp is neither too close or too far away- the babies will let you know by either avoiding or clustering under the lamp if the temp is not right.
Put marbles in the water dish so no babies will drown if they get mobbed at the waterer. They can drink around the marbles easily but you can lose chicks if waterer is too deep.

Good advice. I'm noticing that one of my chicks walks around with a limp, and seems to prefer to squat anywhere she can. I hope its not something to serious.
