2 day old chicks eyes closed ADVICE!

I have noticed some of my 2 day old chicks seem to have their eyes glued shut if i open them with my finger they come unstuck is this a normal thing? I have raised many chicks and this is a 1st for me.
 
I would try wiping them gently with cotton wool and cooled boiled water to see if that helps.
