My gosling hatched on Friday night. She was chipper and full of energy until early this morning when I heard her squeaking as she was breathing. Since she hatched she did sound congested but figured it would pass. Well, I guess it didn't.
I don't know what to do for this gosling other then give it vitamins in her water and I gave her some honey and water as well. Honey is a natural antibiotic. She isn't eating or drinking today and just wants to sleep. All this tells me that something is terribly wrong.
Can I give her Duramycin-10? I doesn't say anything about waterfowl on the package. Can anyone help me get this gosling back on track? I'm just so sick over this.
She is housed in a pet cage which is open. Has food and water and is on pine shaving. I think I will get rid of the pine shaving tonight and just leave paper in the cage. I also added a chick this morning that hatched to keep her company and cheer her up. So far nothing.
If anyone can tell me what else I can do I would appreciate it. I hatch this baby in the incubator. First time with a goose.
