I have been syringe feeding electrolyte water and egg yolk, as well as keeping the chick on the heating pad while removing from brooder to do so. The chick is still listless, doesn’t really open its eyes, can’t walk when it tries to walk.. collapses when it takes a step. I am pretty certain the chick isn’t going to make it since it barely perks up when syringe fed and takes in barely anything, still listless after several syringe feedings. I’ve also noticed that its rear end doesn’t look right. It has a large dried blood clump and light blood dusting on nearby feathers.. not a good sign :-( what do you think caused this? Exiting the shell too early? Or a deformity? This is a feed store hatchery chick.
