Hello, so last year I had 2 Pekins but 1 sadly died, not wanting to lose the other we bought 2 tan & whites[as listed at store] because that was all that was available in a hurry-they were all about same age and have lived perfectly happy for a whole year together- recently the Pekin & 1 of the others are pecking the 3rd so much it actually started to bleed,(its healing well now) it doesn't seem bothered but I feel horrible about it. I separated it to get healed & care for it & that seemed to hurt it more than anything. Is this normal-any ideas what's going on? I dont want to cause them hurt whether by me or their own kind. I went back to where I bought them but the people there said they dont know because most people dont buy them as a 'pet' but that WAS the reason we did, my kids LOVE them! I bought 2 more ducks but havent mixed them all yet without a barrier because now I'm not sure if this could help or hurt situation? Any advice at all would be so much appreciated as I am an animal lover but obviously no expert?! Thanks

So I do not know & do not know how to figure it out, they told me I should know by a curl in their tail. They all have some type of curl in their tail. I now realize I should have done more research, sorry. I've never had any eggs so I am starting to wonder if all 3 are Male? Would that matter?

Males make a raspy sound, females quack. From the sound of it, it sounds like you have two males try to mate the female, Is her head/neck area bald? Curly tails indicates a male as well, but sometimes they get pulled off or don't develop though. I'd separate the males or get of them, keeping too many males is just asking for problems.

So I 1st want to say a BIG THANK YOU 4people trying to help me, these r some pics of them. The 1 that there is only 2 are the 2 uninjured & in the others u can see the 1 has the healing wounds on neck/ head

the middle one in the first picture is a boy. See the cute little curl in his tail? I don't see any other drake curls.

I don't see a drake feather/curl on the pekin but that doesn't mean it's not a boy. You need to separate that girl from those 2 asap. I don't want to see them make her poor little neck bleed or drown her.

Thank you,I will separate them for now, i got 2 more that are supposed to be pekin, they are not getting adult feathers just yet but they look different than the first 2 I had I was just introducing them thru a fence as of now. Hopefully I will end up with 2 groups that get along then. It's hard for us to hear a difference in quacks cuz they all go at same time and they all did so well this whole time,I didn't understand what happened
