2 eggs, 1 chicken?

Is it possible for a hen, around 1 yr, to lay 2 eggs, normal sized, in one day?

I have never seen it happen in the 20 or so years Ive been into poultry, but I have heard it is possible, if one egg gets stuck and the other pushes it out on the way.

So it probably would be very unlikely to have 1 egg one day then 2 eggs the next out of 1 hen.

Hrm.. The other must be on strike due to the weather then.

I had that happen twice over about two years, but it certainly is a rarity! It was a production red hen, and I dont think a day went by without her giving me an egg!

My white leghorn does it regularly. 1 or 2 eggs every day. Never 0! not even when the wether sucks. I love that hen.

I had it happen once this year. It was 2 eggs within 12 hours. But it is rare
