2 eggs pushed out of nest

My Ancona has been setting for "a while". I didn't catch it in the beginning, so I don't know how many days have passed, but must be at least 3 wks. This is my first-ever hatch.

Yesterday and today, MomDuck pushed an egg out of the nest. I picked them up and candled them. Both looked the same: lengthwise, half the egg was dark and half was light. What does that mean?

A chicken person told me that the hen will get rid of bad eggs. True?

Any guesses as to what is going on?

Yes, she will rid the nest of bad eggs. You could try putting them back in but I would just count them as bad. She did it on purpose and has her reasons. You don't want a rotten egg exploding on the other eggs.
