2 month & 3 month olds together?

I didn't think it would happen to me but yesterday my flock fell victim to a predator - likely a fox. 14 of 25 two month old chickens were killed or presumably killed & missing while free ranging. Since I hadn't sufferered any predator loss previously, I'm attributing it to the recent loss of my dog who claimed her ground. I digress ...

I really don't want to start from scratch so I've been looking around for birds about the same age. Most of what I'm finding are a month to six weeks older. Is that much of an age difference going to cause problems with my survivors?

It might. I think I'd pen them separately, in view of each other, and see how it goes. Most likely your own are traumatized from the fox so not at their best right now.

We lost 3 of our year old hens to a fox about 2 months ago. My husband bought 4 chicks on May 24th, so I'm wondering the same thing. When will be a good time to introduce them to the 2 year old hens? The are quickly out growing the box we have them in and will be moving them to a temporary coop soon. We just have to make sure it's fox proof!
