2 month old chicks sleeping arrangement?

Do I need to put the chicks up in the laying area every night?
Can they stay in the locked coop at night?
I been doing it every night and feeling a bit lazy at time, is that ok?

ours stay in their coop locked up every night... we never made them roost: we just provided it and then they went up when they wanted to. As long as the coop is secure then the chicks are fine.
