I had a dog kill my chickens, and I replaced them the same day. My original flock was raised together and got along great and I have 2 female ducks. The new chickens got picked on so we divided the coop, placing food and water on both ends. The problem is during the day the ducks nibble at the chickens. They don't let them be where the ducks want to be. They don't hurt the necks, but nibble the butts. There are no injuries, just pushing them around. They both are fed and have water access. Should I be concerned? I don't have room for a second coop. Is this normal pecking order behavior? It is getting better than when I first got the chicks.
