I'm concerned this may be getting serious, and I really don't want it to be!
My gosling Charlie. 1 1/2 weeks old and already everything seems to be going wrong with him. So far he has already had splayed leg (which we fixed quickly) and now there seems to be a plethora of other things wrong with him.
1) He has started sneezing a bit. Normally not that worrying, but he also has been having quite running brown poop. He also had a temperature for a while, so we've raised the heat lamp which seems to have helped. He was also sick a few night ago, but we had given him some brewer's yeast so he may have just been having a bad reaction to that. We stopped giving him yeast after that though.
2) He can't seem to walk very well. At first I thought he might have staggers so we raised the heat lamp, which helped a little. Then we thought he might have a niacin deficiency (which is why we gave him the yeast) so we'll be giving him crushed niacin tablets when we can get hold of them.
But now I'm tempted to say that he might actually have an injury. When he walks along a flat surface he has a bit of a limp and tends to fall over onto his left side a lot, which seems to be the side the limp is originating from. When he does fall over he squeaks as if he's in pain. His feet also look turned inwards (pigeon toed) and he doesn't have very good balance.
I don't know if these two things could be related. The first thing I'm not so worried about as he is eating and drinking perfectly and seems talkative enough. But the walking problem is quite concerning.
If anyone has any ideas as to what could be the problem could be with poor Charlie then I would really appreciate the help!
Thanks
