Chirping
I've got two roosters that I need to find a home or camp for, fast. Both of them are testosterone-addled and loud crowers.
Cinnamon is the most dominant one, and has shown considerable aggression to the girls and their preferred roo. He's got a gorgeous mane of hackle feathers and a hilarious personality (he grumbles like an old man and it's difficult not to laugh at him). He does crow but not nearly so much as the non-dominant rooster...
Which would be Nashville. Not only is he aggressive to all of the birds (except Cinnamon), he attacked my father, so... nope. Gotta go.
They don't fear mowers, weed-whackers, hedge-trimmers or cars but the sight of a broom, mop, branch with dead leaves or a waved flip-flop induces cackling terror and flight. (They've never been hit with any of those things, so I am perplexed by how they associated the sight of them with "Run away! Run away!")
They were hatched during March Madness (17th or 18th) of this year, so that may account for some of their personality. I probably could have taught them to dunk. They've been free-ranging since they were 6 weeks old, with your typical starter/layer feed from TSC and broiler Mash from The Mill but otherwise it's grass and bugs and scraps and forage (blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, watermelon and tomatoes their favorites). These boys are big and beefy birds. (Can I say that about chickens?
