Hello everyone! We bought our chicks a week ago at TSC and of course it was a bit of a mess in there so we're here to find out what we've got. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help

We've got four of these little girls. I'm thinking Barred Rock?

We also have two of these yellow fluff balls. Buff orpington?

And these two reds (who are not the exact same shade. One is a brownish orange and the other is a lighter yellowish orange). RIR? NHR?

Thank you for taking the time to look. These chicks are just a bundle of personality already. I can't believe what I've been missing all these years!

Fred's Hens :

Look to be two production reds (RIR/NH) nice.
Look perhaps like the little guys are BR? A little tough to see, but that's what they look like.

The yellow puff balls? Not a clue. Too many chicks look like that.

I hear you on the yellow puff balls! I was "forced" into those by my son who insisted that REAL chicks are yellow. They are still his favorite...

I will be watching to find out too - i have 6 from tsc also - look the same - but cant get em to hold still for pics lol so probably the same breeds

hoping that since i got them the same day they did from the usps - and now that they have the gates - the pullets might actually be females lol - dare to dream?

looks to be either a barred rock or possibly black sex-link. either way they should be great egg layers

I'd say the black one is a barred rock. I can see the start of the barring pattern on its wing. Here is my BR at 4days old

The red's look like Production red's as well
Here's one of mine

I am finger crossing for pullets! So far I'm thinking one is a little suspicious...not as round as all the others and not as many feathers. Always flappin' around. Could just be a dominant female...the suspense is killing me!

Yes! That is very much what our black ones looked like when we first got them. If they were sex-link, I'd be in huge trouble, what with all of them having white on their heads. There is hope
