Hey! I've had chicks before but everytime I get so scared that something will happen to them, that I freak out over everything. Just now I noticed one or two chicks will sneeze every once in a while. They're two weeks old and we just got them yesterday, there's 5 in total, 2 easter eggers and 3 barred rocks. They are on shavings, but we've had all our previous chicks on shavings before and haven't had issues with that. I can't remember if those chicks sneezed or not though... I vaguely recall hearing them do it maybe once or twice, but is it normal? Could it just be the shavings dust? They're at about 80 degrees and running around, eating, drinking, everything's fine otherwise. Please tell me I'm freaking out for no reason?

Also, what should the consistency of normal chick poo be? None of them have sticky butt or anything but yesterday there were some kind of ploppish blobs, but I think that might've been attributed to the stress of travel or something... they're on medicated chick feed.

Hopefully I'm just being a scared mom, but some advice would be appreciated!

Thank you!

Chicks will sneeze occasionally from the shavings dust. I have one or two adult hens that will sneeze if they eat too fast. In the absence of other symptoms, I wouldn't worry too much.

Here's the poo page with pics of the various kinds of poo you can expect to see:

From you have described, I suspect you are observing ceceal poo. Entirely normal; a regular flushing of their system so to speak.
