Several days ago this chick developed a bad leg- at first she seemed to just be favoring it a bit but now pretty much just holds it stuck out to the side. She can bend it at the hock and put a little weight on it but clearly not much. No swelling that I can notice, and I can't feel a tendon or anything that seems out of place. No curled toes.
Having been trying polyvisol for a few days with no change (though I'm not convinced I'm getting much in her). She is able to hop/flutter to food and water and aside from the leg seems healthy, but I can't imagine that she will make it to hen-hood like this.
I'm thinking the best thing to do is to cull her but thought I'd check here for any thoughts first. Any ideas on a diagnosis/treatment? And if I let her be (assuming she doesn't get sores or otherwise seem in pain) is there hope of her recovering? Thanks for any thoughts.
