Totally wrong! Ayam Cemani are VERY tiny when hatched and don't ship too well that small. They are very fragile. I do not ship them until they are at least a week old. They are also very prone to pasty butt which you need to keep a very close eye on.

But the USPS regulations stipulate that they be day old or adult.
I'm just asking because I don't know other than what I read in the regs I posted.
They're still chickens, right? As in Gallus Gallus Domesticus?
Ayam Cemani can't be any smaller than Seramas, Nankins or Belgian D'uccles which all ship as day olds.
AC adults are 3 times the size of Serama adults. How much smaller could AC day olds be?
Quail are quite tiny but ship as day olds.
It isn't about the size but the age. Day olds can go without food and water for 2 or 3 more days. 2 week old chicks shouldn't. That is the nature of level 2 to 3 precocial birds. They are still living off the yolk as day olds and in nature, are waiting for their siblings to emerge. That's why it is possible to ship day olds.
Am I missing something here?

Your point is clearly understood Canoe but to be honest I don't know what obtains with USPS since i usually ship via Delta and I have personally never encountered any problems with them delivering the chicks to my clients.
