I just got some new BR pullets last night, ALL have crusty poo on their feet. I should have inspected their conditions before buying them, but the guy was nice enough so I trusted him. One chick in particular has a crusty vent (I have tried to wipe/clean the area but don't want to hurt her too much) and her eyes are "squinty" like she doesn't open them fully.
I have isolated her from the rest of the chicks just in case its contagious.
So I have multiple questions
1) What could this be and how do I treat it?
2) Should I just take her to the vet?
3) Do I just clean the poo from their feet as best I can and the rest will just fall off eventually?
I want to be a good mommy to them, but am still kind of new to this.. any advice is appreciated!
Thanks!

I should add, that the isolated chick acts normal, eats fine, chirps normal etc. Some of her "feathers" look "wet" as if she was licking them (I know thats not why they look wet though, thats my only way to describe them).

The chick is stressed. Moving chicks to new environments stresses them. They've obviously been neglected or kept in filthy conditions. When it comes to buying and selling, trust no one. You can clean the birds legs/feet with warm water and soap. A soft toothbrush works well to get the scum off. Do your best to keep from getting feathers wet. You don't want them to get chilled, so pat the legs dry with a soft towel.

Place them in a clean, safe and secure area with pine shavings and a brooder lamp and keep the temp under the lamp between 85-90 degrees. Thermometers with a probe wire work well for temperature readings.

Give them some Sav-A-Chick with the probiotics in water for three days. If you are not using medicated feed, add Corid 9.6% solution at 1 teaspoon per gallon of water, or Corid powder which is 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of water for 5 days. Then use the vitamins-electrolytes for two days and a day of clear water. You will want to repeat the Corid treated water until they are outside, picking and scratching in soil for a month. Let us know how the chick is doing up until then.

Thanks, Yea I cleaned all their feet as you said and have them on medicated feed now. The chick in question is still the same, I keep picking her vent (gently with a babywipe) , she doesn't like it ... but oh well. she is still acting completely normal, just has a crusty vent.

I have been keeping their brooder very clean since obviously it wasnt very clean at their last home. I am hoping this little girl makes it.
