Hi, all. My 20 week old Chocolate Orpington pullet has developed a significant limp. About 5 days ago I noticed her favoring a leg and resting a lot. Her middle "toe" curls under when she tries to walk on it. I checked her for a break but nothing obvious. What I do notice is significant swelling in her "knee". I'm sorry for the pathetic anatomy terms but I am new to chickens and not sure what the area is called. Appetite is normal.
What can I do to help her? So far, I have isolated her to let her rest and added Vi-Tal to her water. I would love some advice from someone more experienced than myself.
Thank you in advance

Ps she was vaccinated as a chick

I hope you get the response you need

I am really hoping someone can help me with some advice. It's not improving.
search the section for leg injuries and see if there is anything similar to help you.

my chick has an odd leg and i'm trying all sorts from what I saw on this site to aid it I have seen someone say use asprin in the water as it helps reduce pain and swelling.

im really sorry I cant be more help x

Thank you. I have been scouring the web for clues and I noticed the aspirin in water also. I'm going to start that this morning. I am not sure if I can add it to the water with the vitamin supplement I am already giving? Any thoughts? She isn't improving and is now throwing her other leg out in front of her for balance which is making it impossible for her to take a step without falling forward. :(
