I got 6 IB pea eggs from SD to MI, and I put them under a broody chicken, and she hatched all SIX!

I got 2 shipments of 6 white pea eggs
1 from Mississippi 0 hatch none even developed
1 From Florida 3 develope 2 hatched.

Couldnt believe the farthest away eggs were the only ones with a hatch.

I had 5 shipped from MD to TN- 3 didn't develop and of the other 2 only 1 pipped and hatched.

So far, our success rate on purchased and shipped eggs is pretty low. Three of 25 have hatched. Of those, one arrived broken. Some have been replaced by generous sellers, some have not. How well the replacement eggs do remains to be seen. We have also replaced some of our stock that we've sold, that arrived broken by rough handling. One box we shipped looked like an elephant had stepped on it!

Our own eggs from our farm are hatching at about a 93% success rate, so our equipment and methods are sound. I think a lot of eggs are likely being x-rayed this year, for whatever reason. I also suspect that the packages with the most warning signs on them (Fragile, Hatching eggs, Live embryos, Do not x-ray, etc) are more likely to attract unwanted attention, and potential mischief perpetrated by less than scrupulous postal employees. The eggs of ours that did hatch, came in an unmarked box.



We do have a lot more purchased eggs in the incubators, so here's hoping our success (or lack thereof) is just a string of bad luck.
