Oh wow. I never expected til spring! That's wild but I can understand. My older ones are slowing down.Nope. My various breeds didn't lay until around 27 weeks. I was worried too but they just mature at different rates. What breeds do you have?
Keep in mind that days are getting shorter. Some pullets will wait until spring when the days get longer again.
Some of their combs are red, yes I have fake eggs plus my older hens lay. Maybe I just need to be patient.Different breeds come into lay at different ages but you can look for some signs like squatting and red comb/wattles to tell if they're physically ready and then maybe you will get a couple eggs before the real cold sets in. Do you have some fake eggs in the place where you want them to lay?
It sometimes happens but hopefully yours will start soon and lay through the fall and winter!Oh wow. I never expected til spring! That's wild but I can understand. My older ones are slowing down.
I have buff orpingtons, rhode island red, and jersey giants in waiting to lay.
