22% hatch. help!

Sad day here. 17/24 dead and one struggling. Something went very wrong here. I need to know what.

Using hovabator 1602N.
Set 24 eggs (1-3 days old and rotated 3x day while i collected choice eggs).
Temp at 100.
One well filled.
Eggs hand rotated 3x daily.
Day 7 candled-2,4,6,7,14,17,22 questionable
Day 14 candled-1,4,7,8,14 questionable.
Day 18 added water to second well and dropped temp to 98.5-98.7
Day 21-eggs 6,7 wiggling
Day 22-6.7.14.19 wiggling-12 pipped
Day 23- 12 hatched, 11, 21, 22 hatched, 3, 17, 8 pipped
Day 24- 8, 20 hatched. 14, 10 pipped-12 hours no progress. 14 deceased, 10 still struggling to stand now (2 hours post hatch).
No pipping-decided to open eggs.
13,14,15,17,4 early quitters (around day 15-16)
All others dead in shell.
Some had unabsorbed yolks.
All fully developed.
None were rotten.
All in hatch position-no internal pips.
None had veins in membrane-no bleeding, no pulse.
One had a dark lump on its skull.

Im getting a new thermometer before i set again-but what else could have happened?

you dont mention humidity

I have no way to track it. I live in 100% humidity and i filled one well. Thats the best i can do.

at lowes, in the garden center, they have for 8 dollars a outdoor thermometer/ hygrometer that is pretty good. easy to read. i am sorry for your loss

the unabsorbed yolk and trouble standing leads me that way but no way to really know.

agree on humidity...
the humidity needs to be low(er) so eggs can lose water weight thru incubation. then high at the end. without a way of measuring humidity there is no way to know
