I have 3 little Old English Game Hens that started laying eggs about 2 weeks ago when they were 21 weeks old. One little girl has been sitting in the favorite egg box for 2 days. She sitting on 2 golf balls, a Tetra Tint egg, and a White Leghorn egg - and trust me - it's a stretch for her, she's all spread out trying to cover everything.

What's the likelihood that she'll stay put? Any guesses?

Also, if I remove the golf balls, can I add a few of my bantie eggs or will they have a different hatch date? We do have 2 roosters...so I am assuming the eggs are fertilized. I am definitely new to all of this, so any suggestions are welcome!

I am guessing she's definitely Broody because now one of her sisters (from the same clutch) is sitting on 2 eggs in a different nest box. The 3rd sister is my girl that I thought was dead, but she showed up yesterday for a little while, then she disappeared again. So I guess ALL 3 of my OEGB girls have gone broody!! WOW! My husband is not so happy - he only wanted 4 chickens and we talked him into 6, then 8, up to 12...we are down to 9 due to predators - 2 roosters, 1 pullet, 3 broody hens, and 3 happy laying hens.
