Hi all,
Just thought I would say hello. I am an Aussie living in Maryland USA. When I was about 13 my brother and I started keeping chickens...which lead to ducks...which led to geese. They were great days and really enjoyed our large collection of pets.
Had to give it up when I left for college and work. Well, glad to say that we have recently got ourselves a 2 acre property in Maryland (Montgomery County) and looking at getting back into the poultry business. Its interesting to read how some things have moved on in poultry keeping and some things have stayed the same.
Plan at this stage is just to keep 3-4 chickens mainly for eggs and bug hunting. Would love to keep guinea fowl but we still live in a urban environment so I dont think the neighbours would appreciate it!
Lots of catching up as I definately forgotten a lot of things!
