My feed store recommended Turkey Starter for my baby ducks. I bought it and checked the bag this morning and it is 26% protein and says it is "Not formulated for gamebirds".
Is this too much protein for 4 week old ducklings?

The highest i have ever had here was 22%(that was a duck starter) i personally wouldn't feed 26% i see no reason too, angel wing is often brought up in reference to high pro values but i don't think it's as straight forward as that, i just don't feel there is a benefit to such a high protein for 4wk olds..

I do wonder however is it medicated? most turkey starters are, that i am unsure is safe for waterfowl? Can you not get a duck grower and/or an all flock/flock raiser?

It is not medicated. I am not going to use it though, I believe they should be at 19% at 4 weeks. I asked for duckling food and that is what they said I should feed them. I printed out some information to give them so they do not miss direct future customers. It is a local independent feed store that sells ducks and chickens... Just got a misinformed young man, and I did not look until I had opened the bag. They should take it back.
Thank you for your reply!

Not a problem, my current duck starter is a 20% my duck growers here average at 18%... it can be confusing at times and many feed places don't even sell dedicated duck food.
