Hello there. I am fairly new to raising chickens. I have 4- 1 year old chickens. I have 2 buff orpingtons, and 2 Dominiques. This year I bought 3 new chicks. 1 midnight majesty maran, 1 Americana, 1 Prairie bluebell egger. My new chicks are now just over 4wks old, and man they are growing fast. Seems faster then the older flock grew.
My family and I love our chickens, and their eggs. Where we live I can not allow them to free range without us outside watching. We have hawks and dogs around our neighborhood , and our cats want to attack them when they get near, so we have to keep a close eye on them while they are out. I built a tractor run for them, when we can't be there with them. We are all excited about the new chicks and can't wait to get there eggs, yes I know, we have a few months tIL then.
