HI I am a first time chick owner and new to posting but have been reading lots of posts for a while now and they all are VERY helpful.
Anyway, we have 4 two week old chicks. I noticed one of them limping and laying a bit more this morning. She does move around to the brooder, eats, drinks and poops fine just I can tell she is in a little bit of pain. She lets me pick her up with NO resistance and even came to lay next to my hand to protect her a bit from the others so she can rest. When I do hild no peeping as in trying to get away, she actually seems peaceful and falls asleep in my hands as if she is glad to be with me to keep her safe. Right now I have her in the brooder but under the top half of a cat carrier to keep her a bit secluded from being accidently stepped on and not have to worry about getting out of the way from the others. Hopefully this doesnt stress her out as she can still see out and feel the presence of her sisters. Any suggestions as to what may be going on, is she going to be ok after a little rest? This is my son's chick. I don't want anything bad to happen to her as the one he orginally picked didn't make it the first night and would hate to have something awful to his second chick.
Thanks in advance for help and suggestions~angie
